New Edition of Making Sense Of It All

We are delighted to announce we have published the 3rd edition of Making Sense Of It All to coincide with new school year. The new edition includes major updates on the delivery of education, health and social care in West Sussex, a considerable number of new entries in our directories and for the first time, a comprehensive index to ensure information is always to hand.

The guide is now firmly established as a must have for parent carers in West Sussex and to date we have distributed over 7,000 copies of the book since it was first published in 2012. We plan to distribute 2,000 copies of this edition before the summer of 2019, and thanks to the BIG Lottery Fund can now distribute to parents for free.

We are also planning to make the 3rd edition of the guide available free on iBooks and Kindle and hope to have these e-editions available before Christmas.

TSB Worthing – Charity of the Year

We are thrilled to announce Reaching Families have been chosen as TSB Bank (Worthing Branch) charity of the year, commencing 4th September. The bank are planning a number of events to help fundraise for the charity kicking off with a cake sale at the branch on the 22nd September.
More details will follow soon...

Treasurer Post

Reaching Families are hoping to recruit a new Treasurer to oversee the financial governance and management of the charity. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced financial manager who can help a rapidly growing organisation achieve financial sustainability and best practice in its financial management.

Candidates interested in the post should in the first instance contact our Project Manager, Brian O’Hagan, for an informal chat about the role, or you can email him.

Umbrellas in Partnership with Dame Vera Lynn Trust

We are pleased to announce Reaching Families are working in partnership with the Dame Vera Lynn Trust to deliver our Haywards Heath Umbrellas group. The group will now be based from the trust’s offices in Cuckfield and will be available to all SEND parents in the local area. The first group of the autumn term will be on Tuesday, 10th October.
