We know personally and professionally that parent-carers experience problems with stress, anxiety and depression – according to surveys carried out by Contact a Family the figure may be as high as 75%. For this reason the very first project we created was a counselling service for parent-carers.
We can offer parent-carers and siblings in West Sussex with access to six sessions with a professional counsellor. We used to provide this service for free but due to funding restrictions we can now offer the service on an affordability basis, namely if parents can also make some kind of financial contribution.
If you are interested in attending 1-2-1 counselling please contact our project manager on 0793919388 for an informal conversation or email him at email@example.com.
Thanks to funding from West Sussex County Council in 2014 we will be piloting a group counselling project for parent-carers in Worthing, Crawley and Chichester. Each group will run for six sessions and will led by two parent-carers and professional counsellors, Angela Watt and Esther Hunt.
The Worthing group starts at 7pm on the 26th February. To attend this group or to put your name down on a mailing list for the groups in Crawley and Chichester please email Esther Hunt at firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
